Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass starts life right here in the USA. Southwest Greens, part of Shaw Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway company, and all fibers are made and processed in American Shaw plants. Our modern production lines feature automation, Lean/Six Sigma oversight, and internal testing labs to exceed industry-leading performance standards. When you book to install artificial turf with Southwest Greens, you can rest assured that you’re installing durable U.S.-made artificial turf.

American Manufacturing: We use Shaw’s U.S. plants (ours is in Dalton, GA) for turf production. Shaw’s strategic investments and modern processes keep our fibers consistent and high-quality.

Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, we oversee production from start to finish. That allows us to provide even quality and color across every roll, faster response for any warranty or service issue, and complete tracking to resolve any defect efficiently.

Rigorously Tested: Before any turf is delivered, it’s tested and validated through Shaw’s labs and outdoor fields. We use a 13,000 sq. ft. sports science lab and over 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test plots to emulate years of weather and play. We evaluate turf blades for color, endurance, and realistic performance, so your artificial lawn or putting green keeps its look and feel without fading over time.

CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION

We continually refine our turf to be even more realistic and resilient. Some of our latest innovations include:

Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: Bolt fiber technology uses a unique, patented lightning bolt-like structure. It retains its shape longer than standard turf, doubling industry durability ratings. Its unique shape and curved angles reduce shininess, giving the lawn a low-luster, lifelike appearance.

HydroChill® Cooling: We offer special HydroChill® granules that drop surface temps up to 50°F. This passive cooling system is perfect for warm-weather lawns and putting greens, keeping feet and paws comfortable even in summer’s heat.

Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are designed for rapid waste removal and odor resistance. Your dog won’t dig up holes or drag mud into the house anymore. And the way our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste stops bacteria and smell accumulation.

Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to reflect your personal style or company logo? Our Creaturf™ program lets you personalize turf with logos, patterns, or custom colors. From branded backyard putting greens to eye-catching pet turf, this option gives designers more creative freedom than ever before.

CUSTOMIZED TO YOU

We collaborate with clients, golf pros, and experts to ensure our artificial turf meets real needs. Feedback from golfers prompted a new “spring green” color option for tee turf that integrates naturally with fairways. Little details like this help our turf lead in Albuquerque residential and commercial spaces.

We also offer specialized systems for every application — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.

We take fake grass installation seriously. Proper installation is an art. Our synthetic turf replicates real course playability. That’s why legendary golfers like Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam trust Southwest Greens. And because our connection to Shaw gives us unmatched flexibility, we can customize every layer of your turf.

LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND

Innovation never stops at Southwest Greens. Big advancements are coming in 2026! Shaw Sports Turf division confirmed that fans will help to decide new field designs and that a next-gen “Game ON” synthetic turf (made in Calhoun, GA) will roll out in 2026.

This playful spirit and technology will be available in landscaping products soon. We can’t share all the info now, but rest assured, our R&D team is working hard on the next generation of artificial grass.

Next-gen products will be shaped by testing and user input, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
